Patti Rader

I am a member of Neal Avenue UMC and have been blessed to be able to serve God and this church as the Office Manager for 8 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Leadership and Ministry from Ohio Christian University. I am grateful for the opportunity to use what I have learned while earning my degree. I love that I get to come to work each day and serve God and this church.

My husband and I have been married for 34 years. We were married at Neal Avenue UMC by Rev. Charles Rader, who is my husband’s father. We have three grown children and live on a small hobby farm.

I have served in various ministries within the church. I am a Certified Lay Servant and a trained Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader. I am excited about starting Stephen Ministry in our church so members of the congregation can experience the love of Christ when they are going through a difficult time.

John Johnson

I was raised in the beautiful hills of Southeastern Ohio and still consider that home, even though I have resided in Newark since 1984.  I was blessed to be raised in a Christian family who showed me by example, what it means to share Christ’s love with every soul we meet. 

I taught elementary school for Newark City for 30 years, and will start my 11^th year of substitute teaching in September.  I love being with the children and doing anything I can to help them be happy and successful.

I live with major depression but have found ways to cope with that and lead a joyful life.  Of course God is the biggest part of my story. I feel very blessed.  I am excited about Stephen Ministry beginning at Neal Avenue and I would love the opportunity to talk with you about it.  May you hold tight to God’s hand as we journey together.
